As am sure many of you have had, I have had issues and uncertainty during quarantine time. Some examples of small issues I have come across are: Loneliness, as I cannot see my friends in real life and Exercise, as I seem to always have both eyes on the screen and can’t manage to go out daily as I should. In this story, I am going provide you with 5 good tips to keep yourself steady during Corona, and also to keep you healthy.

Tip 1. Hydration

Whilst you sit at your computer screen, do you forget to drink water? Well, actually you should be drinking water at least 8 times a day as an average. I always keep my water-bottle on my desk next to my laptop. I make sure it is filled to the very brim daily as most days I have sport lessons, and it can get quite hot sometimes. Even if you are not quite the sporty participant, that is no excuse for not drinking at least 8 glasses a day!

Tip 2. Interaction with friends and family

One thing that I’m sure everyone misses is seeing their friends and family in real life. Most of my family live in India, so we try to use some apps to keep in touch. So there is still the ability to do so; just not quite the “real life” part. There are many apps most people use daily nowadays during Covid-19 quarantine, such as ZOOM, HOUSEPARTY, FACETIME and GOOGLE HANGOUTS. If you really do miss your friends and you do not already have these apps, then I would advice you should. However, you should always keep a watchful eye out for hacking, such as “zoom-bombing”.

Tip 3. Exercise

I often tend to question myself and I repeat again and again. Am I doing enough exercise? Well, really you should go out for some exercise daily, but if you are busy that is an exception, try to go out at least alternative days. Exercise that you can do include cycling, running and anything else you think would make you healthy and fit, like circuits. You can make daily exercise fun in your own way! Let sport be the reason you’re not always face-to-face with the screen!

Tip 4. Routine

Often forget things? Well, a routine is the thing for you! Keep yourself on track of the latest updates, and be prepared for a school conference call or just a hangout call with your BFF! There are also a lot of ways that you can personalise and manage your routine. You can use a calendar, on a device or in real life! You could also use a sticky-notes method. Whichever you prefer, though you can also make your own methods, so let making a routine and other crafty things get the most of your imagination and creativity! For example, I use my day planner diary and my google calendar app to manage my day.

Tip 5. Spend some time doing things you like

After a long day of school I would advice you to sit back and relax, do something you like, but remember to try keep and your eyes off the screen. Examples of my hobbies, (things I like to do in my free time), are painting, writing, reading and of course, blogging! There are many pros of doing things you like in your free time, such as it can take away any stress from school work and all. Maybe a lie-in on the couch sounds good for some people, or a sporty, active sprint around the neighbourhood with your dog, is good for others. Whoever you are, I’m sure you will find something to relax you, and occupy yourself for a while after work!

I have really enjoyed sharing my tips with you all, if you have any other tips or ideas, please share them in the comments, I would love to hear from you!
