Not Enough Time
The first day of spring,
A whole new season will ring,
Buttercups and daisies will grow,
But the path is missing something too you know,
The old oak trees,
They used stand in a row,
Where have they gone?
Teddy might know.
Well if he doesn’t,
We will have to find out,
Where my favourite trees have gone,
So let’s go find out!
Their leaves gave me happiness,
Empathy and cheer,
While their long trunks gave me courage to overcome fears,
But I needed to give them back what they gave me,
Now…can’t be too late,
Oh can it just be!
That we have enough time,
To save those poor trees,
Let’s ask that tall man, with an axe he goes,
‘Sir, where did those trees go, oh do you know!’
The man with the axe replied,
‘Help me chop them down!’
Let’s ignore the man’s unkindness,
Let’s get the police to sort this out!
Here they come to rescue the trees,
Hooray, Hooray,Yes!Oh!
They take him away to teach him a lesson,
But he’ll be gone by the time the moon makes its crescent,
Now I will tell the tree stump what I wish to say,
Sorry dear tree, about what happened today,
Suddenly I hear a whisper in my ear,
‘It’s okay little child, you have done no harm here.’
